Afro Figure Art was born from the figure drawings of David L. Gilkey, one of the first focus in his studies of art. The human construct is an intricate connection of forms and shapes coalescing to create the masterpiece that is the body. Here we celebrate figure illustrations with the persons of color as the muse. We spotlight black and brown figures and all of their curves, muscles, and undulations and honor the beauty of the body temple.
